What's a Feile?  (fay-la; rhymes with Shelagh shay-la)  It is an Irish dance competition of course!  We will be hosting over 150 dancers from all over the Untied States.  There will be team and solo dances as well as original choreographies that include both traditional and contemporary elements of dance. There will even be a Parent/Child competition!

Dayton Celtic Festival's Guest Bartenders at the Fifth Street Brew Pub

The Dayton Celtic Festival held July 24, 25, and 26, 2014  is one of the largest FREE festivals held in Dayton OH, right downtown by the way.  This festival draws national acts like Gaelic Storm, Scythinan, Socks in the Frying Pan and more. And of course there are our local/regional FAVORITES, the McGovern Ceili Dancers and Father Son and Friends!

Included with all of the exceptional music and dancing are other activities to take part of as well!  Do you like Whiskey?  Well there is a Whiskey tasting hosted by Bushmills Irish Whiskey, a 5K Walk/Run, Traditional Irish Breakfast, Bike Ride, Sunday Mass, and my personal favorite - the Parade of Kilts.

Did I mention this festival was FREE?  All of this takes a lot of money (not to mention time, talent and dedication) to put together.  If you love the Dayton Celtic Festival like I do, then come out to the Guest Bartender event Monday July 14 at the 5th Street Brewpub.  A portion of all the tips will go directly to the Dayton Celtic Festival!

The McGovern Ceili Dancers have the opportunity to perform at all of the best festivals, compete in competitions locally, nationally, and internationally!

Irish dance lessons with the McGovern Ceili Dancers builds your mental and physical abilities but more important than that, you get to meet some of your soon to be best friends!  Lessons for beginners are starting now.  Your first month is FREE!  New classes are starting June 1!

The World A'fair - 30 Countries of Food, Drink, Dance and Fun!

Do you somehow not know anything about one of the best festivals in town?

The World A'fair is this weekend at the Dayton Convention Center, over 30 countries are represented with food, drink, music and dance!

Come on down and hoist a few pints in Ireland!  If you really like beer join in on the  VERY popular Beer Passport which is held Friday evening only,  The purchase of the Beer Passport  entitles you to a 2-oz. sample of beer from each of the twelve participating booths.  Please make sure you vote for Ireland at the end of your tour.

The theme for this year's festival is "Celebrating Festivals"  Ireland will be replicating the Matchmaker Festival  The Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival is a month long festival of music, dancing and craic (pronounced crack - Irish for fun!)

Our booth will have live music, storytelling, jokes, limericks and dancing.  There is even going to be a speed dating event - in honor of the Matchmaker festival held in Ireland. Maybe you will find the LOVE of your LIFE this weekend!

CRN-USA North American Open Championships

CRN-USA North American Open Championships will be held in Newark NJ February 15 - 17.

Eighteen McGovern Ceili Dancers will be making the trip to vie for national titles as well as qualify for the Irish Open.

We wish the best of luck to all of the dancers that will be making the trip from across the United States and around the world!
